when will Emmanuel Macron announce new measures?

Five months after the entry into force of the second confinement, from which some sectors have never come out, the third wave of coronavirus once again puts France up against the wall, between the specter of sorting patients in the hospital and health restrictions interminable events that are likely to crescendo. A finding that should push Emmanuel Macron to take new measures for the country. And if nothing seems decided yet, we already know a little more about the calendar for the days to come.

“It is not tenable”

The head of state indeed assured Sunday that nothing had been decided for the time being. Which means that all the leads are still on the table, going from a hard re-containment, to the status quo. One thing is certain, however: there will be no relief from the current measures.

While he faces almost a consensus of scientists arguing in favor of new restrictions, Emmanuel Macron wants to be sure that everything has been tried before reconfiguring the country. But several of his relatives recognize that this strategy is showing its limits, as one of them told Europe 1. “Classes in schools are closing in cascade, we cannot increase teleworking, and the epidemic is soaring. It is not sustainable.”

Decisions announced in the middle of the week

According to another adviser, Emmanuel Macron will be fixed Tuesday evening on what he will decide, after having access to the latest consolidated figures of contaminations and admissions in intensive care. A decision which must then be discussed in the Health Defense Council on Wednesday.

We should therefore all be fixed on our fate, that same day on Wednesday, or Thursday evening, during the government’s weekly press conference on the health crisis.
