The promoters of the Saudi Grand Prix for Formula 1 races revealed through the official account on “Twitter” today, the design of the newest and fastest circuit in the “street circuits” calendar, or what is known as urban street circuits, included in the championship calendar in the 2021 racing season, in an interview hosted by Saudi Arabia for the first time in history, and it will be held in Jeddah between 3 and 5 December, and represents the pre-final round of the new season championship, in a race held at night under the floodlights.
The circuit consists of 27 bends, a length of 6174 meters, and a track that gives it the characteristic of the longest street tracks in the history of the “Formula 1” Grand Prix, but with a speed rate according to the track design that can reach 250 kilometers per hour, per lap, in addition to the ability to Reaching a maximum speed on straight lines touching 322 kilometers per hour, so that the “Jeddah Circuit” is at the top of the list of the fastest circuits for street racing within cities.
The circuit track includes 3 consecutive zones. Drivers can activate the rear spoiler DRS, which improves traction and contributes to enhancing the chances of drivers overtaking the cars ahead of them during the laps of the race.
In its design, the circuit bears the touches of the international designer Hellmann Telke, who has created many circuits, most notably the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. In laying the track, Telki was keen to use long and winding roads along the Corniche, with successive and fast turns and curves, and harsh braking points, which impose great challenges on drivers competing for the Saudi racing title.
