John van Assendelft is entering the city council for Liveable Rotterdam. He will join the council on 8 April and is the replacement for Joost Eerdmans, who will be in the House of Representatives on behalf of JA21.
67-year-old Van Assendelft has been active in politics for years as a district council and area committee member in the Kralingen-Crooswijk area. He worked in retail for 49 years. He is also active as a volunteer and is committed to lonely elderly people.
“Pim Fortuyn was my great motivator to become a member of Liveable Rotterdam in 2002 and to dedicate myself to the city I love”, says Van Assendelft.
“As a municipal councilor I think I can achieve more for the people of Rotterdam. I stand for our classics clean, whole and safe; especially the approach to traffic jams, but also loneliness and nuisance from nitrous oxide use in the outdoor area are very important to me. for all these problems, we need the help of all Rotterdammers. ”
Liveable Rotterdam also hopes to be able to present a replacement for councilor Ehsan Jami, who will leave on April 29. Jami becomes a registrar on St. Eustatius.
