The over 70s joined, on Saturday March 27, the list of people eligible for vaccination against Covid-19. France is stepping up the pace of its campaign. Feedback on the schedule desired by the executive.
France will recover at least two million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, out of a batch of around 30 million doses found in Italy. “This is what allows a real progressive acceleration of the vaccination campaign”
, explained Clément Beaune, Secretary of State for European Affairs, to journalists from France Televisions. The integration of people over the age of 70 marks the beginning of a rise in the importance of vaccination. From the beginning of April, the government wants to integrate 65/69 year olds, i.e. 3.8 million citizens in France.
From mid-April, the 50/64 segment should in turn be affected by vaccination against Covid-19. Then will come the largest segment of the population, in June: 18/49 year olds, or 25.6 million people. The government hopes to have vaccinated 30 million French people by the end of June. Above all, the executive is counting on the start of the production of doses in France, from next month. The Pfizer vaccine will for example be manufactured in Eure-et-Loir, from April 7.
