A snowmobile accident occurred in Outokumpu on Saturday afternoon, in which one person was seriously injured, the North Karelia Rescue Department reports. One of the victims of the accident was slightly injured.
Several snowmobiles had been driving along a marked route when one of the snowmobilers lost control of his snowmobile on the hill. He collided with a tree next to the route.
The driver who next climbed the hill had to dodge the sled driver driving the tree and lost control of his own vehicle. He ended up on a snowshoe.
Rescue personnel rushed the injured on a snowmobile and sleigh to the emergency room.

The injured have since been transported to a central hospital for treatment.
