Touring in Grenoble, the web-series “City game” wants to break down prejudices about neighborhoods

Precariousness, racism, clashes with the police … This reality of certain districts in France, the rapper and actor Oumse Dia wishes to show it in his web-series City game. Filmed at the moment in the streets of Domène, in the suburbs of Grenoble, this fiction intends to give another image of the cities. “There are still certain prejudices, and we would like to break that, show that we can do things well and that there are people who have lots of ideas, who can lead projects”, says Mehdi Akrab, actor of the series.

For the director, the objective is also to offer a chance to young actors. “I want to give this experience so that eventually we can spot them, and so that they themselves can have fun, and see that everything is accessible and that we can have a chance if we are motivated. ”, he explains.

The Oumse Dia project is very popular in the neighborhood. And for good reason, it is a kind of model for the children who live there. “He’s nice, he’s funny, he takes care of us”, says Hadj Mansouri, who plays a role in the series. The first episode of City game will air on April 20 on Youtube. Next year, the series will go to the Cannes film festival and will be presented at the film market.
