The United States intends to build an increasingly confrontational relationship with China from a position of strength. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced this on the air of CNN.
According to him, the two countries also have areas for cooperation.
“Ultimately, we must build our relationship with China from a position of strength,” added the secretary of state.
He stressed that the United States will count on the support of partners and allies.
“If we develop a joint approach to the challenges that China presents, we will be more effective in dealing with them,” Blinken added.
Earlier it became known that China is imposing sanctions against the United States and Canada in response to similar measures against Beijing, which were introduced under the pretext of “lies and misinformation” about human rights violations in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
On March 22, the US, EU, UK and Canada imposed sanctions on China for “violating Uyghur rights” in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
