This step aims to examine, test and certify mobile phone devices compatible with the fifth generation networks to work on the networks of service providers in the country, and to protect users from using devices that do not meet the standard specifications that may affect the safety of mobile phone networks and users of these networks, and it also helps government agencies And especially to make sure of the devices before importing or buying them from outside the country.

Through these updates, the National Laboratory will work to ensure that 5G devices conform to the approved international standards, and that these devices are compatible with the communications networks in the country, and to ensure that they comply with Emirati specifications such as early warning and other specifications in these devices, in order to ensure that the customer has devices compatible with local networks and regulations. .

In this context, the Executive Director of the Technology Development Affairs Department at the Authority, Eng. Saif Bin Ghalita, said, “The UAE has achieved advanced positions globally in adopting and applying the technologies of the fifth generation networks, and the authority, under the guidance of the wise leadership, is keen to accelerate the pace of work to spread these technologies because of their role. Great in achieving digital transformation, applying artificial intelligence techniques and benefiting from big data. Therefore, the authority is keen to ensure that all devices designated for using fifth generation technologies as a safe and sound technology to achieve the desired benefit from them.

In turn, the Director of the National Laboratory for Inspecting Communication Devices at the Authority, Muhammad Al-Shamsi, said, “The authority is working continuously to ensure that mobile phones are compatible with the approved technical and technical standards included in the authority’s quality approval system, with the aim of ensuring access to the best services and full compatibility with the operating networks. In the country, and in view of the high demand for devices compatible with the fifth generation networks, the authority launched this initiative with the aim of ensuring that all mobile phones in the market are safe, sound, and meet the required standards and requirements.
