The Dubai Sports Council, in cooperation with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, launched the “Dubai Schools Games” for private schools, organized by ESM, with the participation of 106 private schools in Dubai, with the aim of increasing awareness of the importance of exercise and physical activity as a means of promoting health Physical, mental and well-being for all.
A statement issued by the Dubai Sports Council said that the first rounds witnessed competitions in virtual games, including chess and the electronic football game (FIFA 2021), in which more than 1,500 students competed online, and 16 students qualified in each of the six different categories.
The electronic car racing championship (Virtual Rocket League) will be held on April 9 and 10, and more than 500 students have registered in the championship.
The total number of participants in the “Dubai School Games” increased to 2000 students to participate in the Dubai School Games competitions, and nearly 500 teachers participated in physical education.
The Dubai Schools Games include 14 different sports, including football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, table tennis, cycling, water polo, chess, golf, cross-country, athletics, people of determination games, netball and electronic sports.
Teams of different age groups participate in the session, from under nine years old to 19 years old for boys and girls. The talent selection program is implemented in all sports, as this initiative provides an opportunity for all private school students to show their athletic talents and abilities, and a sports file is created for each player who registers in the tournament so that he can benefit from it during his transition to the university level.
Participation is free of charge for all schools, as registration continues on the official website of the Dubai Schools Games, via the following link: www.dubaischoolsgames.ae.
The “Dubai Schools Games” aims to promote the sports listed in Dubai clubs by expanding the base of practitioners in schools, discovering sports talents through school competitions in which students compete, and providing the clubs with the opportunity to choose the best talent and include them in their teams in various games.
The course is sponsored by GEMS Education Schools Group, Al Ain Water, Dawson Sports Company, Anta eSports Company, and Joe Gamers Company for electronic games.
