The Russian Defense Ministry spoke about the declassification of archival documents


The Russian Ministry of Defense canceled orders to declassify archival documents from 1941-1945 due to the registration of a new order, which expands the period and list of documents that researchers will be able to access.

“The cancellation of the regulations of the Russian Ministry of Defense concerning the declassification of archival documents during the Great Patriotic War is due to the introduction of a new order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, significantly expanding the historical time interval and the list of new archival documents available for research from the Second World War,” TASS quotes the message Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that at the moment, work has been organized to declassify documents from the period of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and to fill the generalized databanks “Memory of the People”, “Exploit of the People” and “Memorial”.

On January 25, Russian leader Vladimir Putin recommended that the State Duma prepare a bill aimed at banning the public identification of the role of the USSR and Nazi Germany in World War II.
