President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev assessed the role of science during the pandemic.
“Science can really do something, do something quickly enough. And when such a time begins, being properly organized, it gives the right decisions, serious answers to the questions that are being asked, ”Sergeev said at the first of a series of meetings dedicated to science and held within the framework of the Year of Science.
As the expert noted, in this situation, an important role was played by the fact that the vaccine platforms were known, on the basis of which vaccines against COVID-19 were created.
“We must make sure that there is as wide a reserve as possible for the future. This is a very important lesson of the pandemic year, ”he said.
Earlier, the former chief sanitary doctor of Russia, State Duma deputy Gennady Onishchenko, in an interview with the NSN, commented on the situation with the pandemic in the world.
