Gérald Darmanin announced on Friday March 26 that controls would be tightened at stations, airports and road tolls. The objective of the police is to enforce the ban on inter-regional travel, to which 19 departments are now subject.
19 departments of France are subject to reinforced restrictive measures, comparable to a form of confinement. In particular, the inhabitants of these territories are prohibited (except for compelling or professional reasons) to travel between regions. On Friday March 26, Gérald Darmanin also announced an intensification of checks at stations, airports and road tolls.
In Île-de-France, where these measures have been in force for a week, checks were numerous on Friday evening, at the gates of Paris. More than 4,500 police officers have been deployed in the region to check the derogatory certificates. During the weekend of March 27 and 28, more than 90,000 police and gendarmes will be mobilized. “We are not here to annoy the French but to protect them”, said the Minister of the Interior. B.
