The Ministry of Industry and Trade received an appeal to ban the sale of alcohol to customers with children


The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia received an appeal from the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in Tatarstan, Irina Volynets, with a request to prohibit the sale of alcohol and cigarettes to customers visiting shops with minor children.

“The appeal of the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Republic of Tatarstan was received by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia on March 25, 2021,” the ministry’s press service quotes TASS.

It is noted that the appeal has been accepted for work and will soon be considered.

Earlier, Irina Volynets explained her proposal to prohibit retail chains from selling alcohol and cigarettes to customers who came with children.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection Nikolai Govorin and member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Svetlana Bessarab commented in an interview with RT on a proposal to prohibit retail chains from selling alcohol and cigarettes to customers who came with children.
