The Kremlin commented on Macron’s statement about the “war” over vaccines

Moscow does not agree with the statement by French President Emmanuel Macron that Russia and China are waging a “vaccine war,” said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian leader.

As the representative of the Kremlin noted, a confidential dialogue has developed between the heads of the two states, they never bypass sensitive issues, but there are disagreements on some of them.

“These statements by Mr. Macron belong, probably, to the sphere of our absolute disagreements. We absolutely do not agree that Russia or China are waging some kind of war, and we absolutely do not agree that Russia or China are using the coronavirus pandemic and vaccine issues as a kind of instrument of influence, “Peskov told reporters.

He stressed that Russia has never politicized the topic of vaccination against coronavirus.

Macron said earlier that Europe is facing a “new type of world war” related to vaccinations. The developers of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine responded to his comments.
