In a text adventure, the player writes commands and takes the story forward. You can type either with the virtual keyboard in play or with the right keyboard. The game is played in English.
A word of warning for those accustomed to modern video games: The game writes a lot and reads a lot of text. In addition, it does not understand the written text very fluently. There will be situations where the player thinks he gives a logical command but the game does not recognize it.
Despite its innovations, the game is graphically quite simple. There are some sound effects, so you should keep your speakers or headphones connected. The game is not based on the old and dangerous Flash technology, which browsers no longer even support. Instead, Flash replaces html5.
As the game’s website warns, be prepared to die a lot. The undersigned managed to die immediately on the first game.
The game situation can be saved, but it requires the creation of a BBC user account. If you happen to own or create one, you should often write “save” to save the situation. You can restore your recording by typing “Restore”.
