The president of Navantia takes charge of SEPI, the state company that has been headless since September 2018 that has channeled rescues such as the Plus Ultra airline
The Government spokesperson and Minister of Finance explained that Gualda, currently President of Navantia“He has extensive managerial experience in the business field, where he has held various responsibilities, most of them related to the Junta de Andaluca”.
The appointment takes place in the heat of controversy by the airline rescue Plus Ultra, one of the companies that have obtained the go-ahead to access state aid after the impact of the pandemic, such as Air Europa or Duro Felguera.
Since September 2018, SEPI was headless, a hndicap when managing these State aid for companies considered of strategic relevance for the country.
SEPI, which brings together the public business sector, had Vicente Fernndez Guerrero as its last president, appointed by the acting Government of Pedro Sánchez and resigned after his imputation of a mine in Aznalcllar. Bartolom Lara, number 2 of the state society, has been occupying that position in functions.
Gualda is a Civil Engineer from the University of Granada and He acceded to the presidency of Navantia on September 30.
