The first Emirati cycling tour starts today, and is held in three stages over three consecutive days with the participation of 11 teams, as the first stage begins today in the Hamriyah area in the Emirate of Sharjah for a distance of 75 km, then the second phase takes place at the Al Qudra track in Dubai for a distance of 78 km, and is concluded in the Corniche Umm Al Quwain, the day after tomorrow, Saturday, in the third phase, for a distance of 88 km.
For his part, President of the Cycling Union Mansour Bouasiba affirmed that the circumambulation is part of the electoral program that he had previously promised, indicating that the circumambulation is the first of its kind in the UAE and contributes to increasing the base of cycling participants, and reveals talents capable of bearing the power of racing to be a tributary to the teams Patriotism.
Bouasiba said to Emirates Today: “The federation wanted there to be more stages of circumambulation, but due to the circumstances of the (Corona) pandemic, and some approvals made us limit the circumambulation this season to three phases, provided that next year will be in five stages with Development in the circumambulation to reach coverage of all the emirates of the country ».
