Egyptian television said today, Friday, that two trains collided in the north of Sohag governorate, while an official in the Ministry of Health told local media that there were dozens of injured people.
Assistant to the Minister of Health and Population for Information and Awareness and the official spokesperson for the ministry, Khaled Mujahid, explained that immediately after the accident, 36 equipped ambulances were paid, which transported 50 injured people to the evacuation hospitals, namely, “Sohag General, Sohag Education, Tahta, and Maragha.”
Mujahid indicated that the Minister of Health and Population formed a crisis and emergency room in Sohag to follow up the repercussions of the accident, provide any medical supplies and supplies, as well as provide medical teams from all medical specialties to provide the necessary support for the injured.
The first photos, which were published by Al-Masry Al-Youm and Al-Watan, showed train cars that capsized at a water canal.
