Sergei Tsekov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, commented on the Crimean intention to send several lawsuits to Ukraine due to the organization of the water blockade of the peninsula.
“In this case, there are clearly violations, by and large, this was indirectly recognized by a number of international organizations, those that stated that there is a problem with the water supply to Crimea, including due to the fact that Ukraine stopped the supply of water to the territory. At the same time, they mentioned with reservations that water supply issues are the responsibilities of the state that includes the territory, ”said the senator.
He also expressed confidence in the good litigation prospects of these claims.
“As a result of these actions (water blockade. – RT) both individuals and legal entities suffered: Crimea suffered significant damage … International authorities must give this an appropriate assessment not only of a moral, but also of a material nature, “Tsekov added.
Earlier, the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, announced that a water blockade lawsuit was being prepared in Crimea, with which it was planned to go to court, and then to international organizations.
