The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called today, Tuesday, for specialized experts to conduct a deeper investigation into the hypothesis that the new Corona virus, which causes the Covid-19 pandemic, has leaked from a laboratory in China, criticizing the restriction of international experts’ access to the original data.
Tedros said during a briefing to the member states of the World Health Organization about the report, which was officially released Tuesday: “Although the experts who conducted investigations in January and February last year in China about the origin of the virus, they concluded that the hypothesis of the virus’s leakage from a laboratory is the least likely, it is necessary. A broader investigation, likely through new missions with specialized experts that I am willing to send. ”
This hypothesis that the virus that causes Covid-19 may have leaked from a laboratory was strongly defended by the previous US administration headed by Donald Trump, based on information from the intelligence services. But China has always and vehemently denied this possibility.
