The court’s message on Facebook says that the Court of Cassation considered the case at the suit of a citizen who appealed against the decree of the President of Ukraine on sanctions.

During the consideration of the case, the court checked whether “the loss of access to information programs broadcast by these TV channels is a violation of the plaintiff’s rights guaranteed by Articles 8 and 10 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms”.

“Having heard the explanations of the parties in an open court session and examined the case materials, the court made a decision, which refused to satisfy the claims of the citizen,” the press service of the court said.

Earlier, the Administrative Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court of Ukraine opened proceedings on the claim of the head of the political council of the Ukrainian party “Opposition Platform – For Life” Viktor Medvedchuk because of the decree on sanctions against him.

In early February, Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the application of sanctions against three TV channels – 112 Ukraine, ZIK and NEWSONE.
