The Cape Verde team won the penultimate ticket for the final phase of the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2021) football, this March 30, 2021 in Maputo. The Cape Verdeans won 1-0 in Mozambique and finished second in Group F behind Cameroon, automatically qualified for its CAN 2021, which drew 0-0 against Rwanda, in Douala. </p><div> <p>There was only one place left for the " <strong>CAN 2021 </strong>»<em>  </em>in group F and she went to Cape Verde. The other was already promised to Cameroon, automatically qualified as host country for the next African Cup of Nations, and which drew 0-0 against Rwanda, on March 30, 2021 in Douala. A draw that allows Cameroonians to symbolically finish at the top of the ranking.
The so desired second place therefore went to the Cape Verdeans. The Blue Sharks went to seek their qualification on the ground of Mozambique 1-0, this Tuesday in Maputo. The decisive goal was scored against his own camp by the Mozambican Faisal bangal (58e).
Cape Verde, which played in the CAN 2013 and 2015 only, is therefore making its return to the finals after missing the last two.
 The African Football Confederation (CAF) has decided that the competition will continue to be called CAN 2021, despite its postponement to 2022.
