Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova expressed her opinion about the performance of Alexandra Trusova in the free skating program in women’s single skating at the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships in Sweden in Stockholm.
She noted that Trusova should not have declared five jumps in four turns for an arbitrary program.
“She does unreasonable things, she doesn’t need to jump five quadruple jumps, she has everything crammed into it. She needed three jumps – quite enough not to fall every minute. What I see for a whole year is that it falls. I am very sorry, because this is such a tremendous talent, and such a talent is always with a difficult character, “Tarasova added.
Trusova won bronze, gaining 217.20 points based on the results of two rentals – 78.86 for the short program and 152.38 for the free program.
Earlier it was reported that Russian figure skaters for the first time in history took the entire podium at the World Figure Skating Championships.
