The economic crisis linked to the coronavirus epidemic does not spare SNCF. With the latest containment measures, travel is limited. The company is therefore forced to readjust its offer. Journalist David Boéri provides clarifications, on the 19/20 set, Friday March 26.
The coronavirus crisis is hitting many sectors in France hard. This is the case of the SNCF, which is forced to limit its offer, since trips are limited and therefore less numerous. “TGV traffic was already reduced since the start of the year but from Monday [29 mars], the number of trains will decrease further. There will always be six TGVs out of ten between Paris and Marseille but more than five out of ten for Rennes and Strasbourg“, explains journalist David Boéri, on the 19/20 set, Friday March 26.

In addition, only four out of ten TGVs remain between Paris and Lille (North). The journalist adds that the situation will be even more complicated on international routes. Indeed, for those who want to go to London, there will be “more than one round trip per day“. In addition, the number of reservations is down sharply. In April 2021, the latter”fell 65% compared to 2019“.
