2006 Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov commented on the victory of Russian figure skaters Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov in ice dancing at the World Championships in Stockholm.
He noted that Sinitsina and Katsalapov, with their free dance skating, did not leave the rivals a chance to win, and the judges no reason to lower their marks.
“Well done, they have learned to cope with their nerves. This speaks of their professionalism. The next season is Olympic, and they have reached a new level before it. Now the main thing is not to relax and show more impudent skating. They will rest after the Olympics, ”added Kostomarov.
According to the results of two rentals, the Russian duo scored 221.17 points: 88.15 for rhythmic and 133.02 for free dance and won gold at the World Championship.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian duo for the first time in 12 years won the dance competition at the World Figure Skating Championships.
