Bayern Munich and Poland’s top scorer Robert Lewandowski will miss his team’s upcoming confrontation against England in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers due to a knee injury, the Polish Football Association announced on Monday.
Lewandowski sustained the injury in his right knee during his team’s match against San Marino, yesterday, Sunday, after scoring twice during it before he was knocked out in the 63rd minute.
A statement issued by the Polish Federation said, “It usually takes 5 to 10 days to recover from this injury, and therefore Robert Lewandowski will return to his club, where he will undergo treatment.”
The Polish team also suffers from several injuries from the Covid-19 pandemic, related to goalkeeper Lukas Skorupski and midfielder Matyusz Klitsch.
