During a major police action on the Wapendragervlinder in Utrecht’s Leidsche Rijn district, several drug dealers were arrested in the past week. Cars, cash and a large amount of drugs were also confiscated.
Following several anonymous reports from the neighborhood about drug trafficking and nuisance, the police started an investigation into the activities in the home. The investigation indeed showed that drugs were sold from the house to the Wapendragervlinder.
The police already managed to catch and arrest two suspects in the act on 14 March. It concerns a 38-year-old man from Zoetermeer and a 41-year-old man from The Hague. Both men carried a fair amount of drugs.
Another person was arrested last Wednesday. A 39-year-old Utrecht left the house with a large bag. After checking the bag turned out to be full of drugs. With this arrest, there was sufficient evidence for the police to do a home raid.
During the raid, a thirty-year-old man from Bodegraven and a 36-year-old man from Vleuten were arrested. Money and drug dogs, among other things, searched the house. Drugs and more than 16,000 euros in cash were found. The drugs, money and two cars have been confiscated.
The house was closed, but not much later witnesses still saw people in the house. The police were called in and arrests were made again. One of the men turned out to be the 41-year-old man from The Hague, who had already been arrested in this case. He was caught a second time with drugs.
