From Monday, March 29, the Seine-Saint-Denis department could face the cascading closures of school classes, due to the explosion of cases of Covid-19.
As of Monday March 29, as decreed by the Ministry of National Education, a class will have to close from the first case of Covid-19 contamination detected. The 19 confined departments are concerned, in particular Seine-Saint-Denis where the virus circulates the most. A high school in Drancy is causing a lot of concern. In this establishment, several dozen students were infected. The epidemic is progressing and worries many high school students. “I’m not afraid, it’s more for my family”
, confides a student.
Faced with this situation, 22 classes will be closed in this high school with more than 2,000 students. Some parents and teachers are asking for its outright closure. “We arrive at a situation so alarming that from a health standpoint, it becomes impossible. Unfortunately, this school will have to be temporarily closed”, indicates the representative of the Federation of Parents’ Councils (FCPE). This situation is not unprecedented in Seine-Saint-Denis, currently the department hardest hit by the third wave.
