RPC approved Tchaikovsky’s music as a replacement for the Russian anthem at the Paralympic Games

Acting President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) Pavel Rozhkov said that at a meeting of the executive committee of the organization, a fragment from the First Concerto of Pyotr Tchaikovsky for piano and orchestra was approved as a replacement for the Russian anthem at the Paralympic Games.

“Today, members of the executive committee approved a musical composition that will become an alternative to the national anthem for Russian athletes at the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, as well as World Championships. In the near future we will send this musical composition for approval to the International Paralympic Committee, “- quoted by TASS Rozhkova.

Due to the sanctions of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Russian athletes cannot fly their national flag at the World Championships, Olympics and Paralympics. Also, the national anthem cannot be played in their honor.

Earlier, Moskvina shared her emotions from awarding Mishina and Gallyamov to the music of Tchaikovsky.
