King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane will visit the High Tech Campus Eindhoven on King’s Day. An online and TV broadcast will be recorded from a studio at this location, the Government Information Service announced on Tuesday.
The royal family will take part in a broadcast on 27 April in which Brainport Eindhoven presents itself on the basis of the theme Making Knowledge. A large part of the programming is completed in this studio.
Brainport Eindhoven is a partnership between municipalities in the Eindhoven Metropolitan Area, companies and knowledge institutions from Southeast Brabant. About 135 companies and institutes are working on the development of new products, among other things.
Exactly what the king and his family will do will be announced at a later date. In any case, they will talk to designers and look back ‘on special ways of meeting in corona time’. Companies also show various new technologies.
Due to the corona virus, King’s Day will be celebrated without an audience this year. The municipality of Eindhoven previously called on people not to come to the city of light on April 27.
King’s Day 2020 celebrated from Huis ten Bosch
Last year, the celebration in Maastricht was canceled due to corona virus. Instead, the king celebrated his 53rd birthday together with Queen Máxima and their daughters Amalia, Alexia and Ariane at home at Huis ten Bosch Palace.
Maastricht subsequently renounced the possibility of organizing King’s Day 2021. The city prefers to wait for a moment when everyone can celebrate the party on the street again.
