Rospotrebnadzor relaxed testing requirements for coronavirus


Rospotrebnadzor relaxed the requirements to ensure a minimum level of coverage of the population with testing for coronavirus infection, and now the results of tests made not only by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method will be taken into account, but by all that determine the causative agent of COVID-19.

RIA Novosti informs about this with reference to the decree of the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.

“Ensure the level of coverage of laboratory tests to identify the causative agent of COVID-19 of at least 200 studies per 100 thousand population (on average daily for seven calendar days) using any of the methods that determine the genetic material or antigen of the pathogen, using diagnostic drugs and test systems registered in accordance with with the legislation of Russia, ”the text says.

According to data as of March 30, 8277 cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Russia per day. In total, 4,536,820 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the country since the beginning of the epidemic.
