The results from the pandemic year 2020 show, among other things, that pensioners are now taking up more space in digital: they have started using social media, started e-shopping and also started using digital care services. The results also show that pensioners want to continue engaging in digital activities even after the pandemic.
Working from home has more than tenfold during the pandemic and a large majority of Swedes state that it is going well, and nine out of ten would like to continue with it after the pandemic.
However, the survey shows that students have not had the same experience of distance learning. Every third student feels that distance education has led to a greater workload. Many high school students feel that teaching has suffered.
Surveillance and dating
The survey also showed that more people have felt more monitored and worried about having their privacy violated on the internet. Men are more worried than women.
Nearly a quarter of all singles have online dating during the pandemic. The ones who date online the most are the students.
* The survey was conducted on two occasions with 2,670 people at the first measurement and 2,844 people at the second. The sample is random from the population register from 16 years and up.
