Renault aims to increase its share of the van market in Finland with two new products, Express and Kangoo.
Renault has been quite successful in the van trade both in Finland and elsewhere in Europe. After the first two months, it is the sixth in the registration statistics in Finland with a market share of just over 6 per cent. However, the hunger is great, and the brand new Express and Kangoo will satisfy it.
Of the twins in the cargo space of less than five cubic meters, the Renault Express is really just new. The French group has decided to stop selling Dacia vans, after which Dokker has been renamed. In addition to design changes, more equipment has become available than before.
The new Express is intended for users of the exact “mark” for whom price is the most important selection criterion. So, for example, there is no automatic transmission, but you have to buy a Renault Kangoo.
Kangoo, which has been on the market since 1997, has always brought with it insights never seen before in its size range. The Kangoo was the first small van to get a sliding door. Now the idea has been taken a step further and the new idea is Open Sesame by Renault. On the right side, the B-pillar is connected to the front door, so the side opens almost a meter and a half wide. Another new invention is Easy Inside Rack, which is like an internal roof rack for long objects.
An ordinary Kango is followed by a Kangoo Maxi half a meter longer and almost five meters long. Next year, the range will grow with Kangoo E-Tech: 75 kilowatts of power, and a 44 kWh traction battery will give an operating distance of 265 kilometers. Next year’s issue also includes versions of Kango for passenger transport.
