Basshunter is promoting Netflix’s new anime series with a surprising video of an old and player-hitting hit by a Swedish DJ.
Swedish dj Jonas Altberg that is, Basshunter was at the peak of his career in the summer of 2006, when the Boten Anna hit conquered the Nordic countries.
On the same LOL album (2006) with Boten Anna, there was also another hit song, Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA, which, however, did not rise to similar popularity. The song ranked second on the Finnish singles chart (40/2006), but dropped after three weeks.
Instead of playing Dota and hanging out with friends in the Ventrilo chat program, Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA is familiar to players. The song has now reappeared after years of hiatus.
The reason is Netflix’s new anime series, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, which, as the name implies, is based on a popular computer game. Thursday 25.3. for the first season of the series, Netflix has teamed up with Basshunter.
The one-and-a-half-minute video now features 36-year-old Altberg sitting at a computer playing Dota while watching a new anime. The nostalgic video became the number one topic in Reddit’s Dota area. The video can be watched below.
– Holy shit, my childhood!
– Is this true?
– Good job Netflix. You know what Dota fans want.
– This feels like an old friend’s return. I missed you.
