Etihad Energy Services Company (Etihad ESCO), a subsidiary of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, announced the conclusion of an agreement to rehabilitate buildings in the facilities of Dubai Maritime City, affiliated to Dubai Ports World – UAE Region, within the framework of enhancing cooperation and strengthening strategic relations between the two parties in the areas of sustainability and efficiency energy.
The agreement includes the application of modern air conditioning, lighting and thermal insulation solutions in the facilities. Three cooling systems will be installed to enhance the performance of the central coolers «Adiabatic Cooling System» with a central control unit, as well as modification of the control system of air exchange units, through the installation of smart valves and the replacement of triple valves. With bilateral ones, a number of air-conditioning units will be replaced with modern energy-saving ones, and the thermal insulation of about 2725 square meters of glass spaces will be improved.
As for lighting solutions, 1,142 traditional lighting units will be replaced with modern, energy-efficient ones.
The project is expected to save 729,373 kilowatt hours per year, which constitutes 20% of the current total consumption of the targeted facilities.

For his part, Acting Chief Operating Officer of Etihad ESCO, Faisal Al Raisi, said: “We are proud to provide diversified energy services to Dubai Maritime City’s facilities, as the project provides a set of integrated, diversified and sustainable solutions aimed at raising energy efficiency.”
