Portugal coach spoke about Ronaldo’s missed goal against Serbia

The head coach of the Portuguese national team Fernando Santos commented on the draw outcome of the second round of the qualifying tournament of the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the national team of Serbia.

“I have no explanation why we allowed Serbia to draw. We studied the opponent, we knew what they could do. I warned my players that they might change after the first half. We controlled the match well and created chances to score again. After Serbia’s second goal, we regained control of the game, and we had a goal that was not counted. This does not negate what we have not done or what we could have done better. But having a ball that enters the goal half a meter and is not counted is impossible in football, ”the UEFA press service quotes Santos as saying.

The meeting held in Belgrade ended with a score of 2: 2. Already in stoppage for the second half, the referee of the meeting did not count the goal of Cristiano Ronaldo, considering that the ball did not cross the goal line of the Serbian team.

Earlier it was reported that Slovakia and Malta drew in the selection for the 2022 World Cup in football.
