In the night from Friday to Saturday, the police rolled up an illegal party in a shed on Van der Kunstraat in The Hague.
Thirty to forty residents of The Hague were present at the party. They came into the picture when the carbon monoxide alarm went off inside, after which the police and fire brigade came to the alarm. They found the partygoers on the spot. “Laughing gas and alcohol were used generously,” said a police spokesman about the atmosphere in the shed. “Of course this is not the intention.”
The shed also served as a parking space. All visitors had their cars hidden in the company hall. The roll-up door had been lowered to stay out of sight.
All attendees were fined for violating curfews. Three people have been arrested for insulting a cop and violating ID law. They have since been sent away again.
In recent months, the police in The Hague has regularly intervened in illegal parties of people who do not feel like the corona rules. For example, on November 28 an end was put to a noisy party in the 1e Lulofsdwarsstraat. And on December 29, all partygoers were fined during a party in a cafe in the center.
