Police gave a stop signal, but the car came at a fast pace – 2.5 years in prison for the Sahrawi – Domestic

On Friday, the Kanta-Häme District Court sentenced the man to 2.5 years in prison in a case where he was accused of driving towards the police in Hämeenlinna in May 2019.

According to the prosecutor’s subpoena, the man had been driving a car at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour as he approached a police blast on Kolmostie. Prosecutors said police had shown a stop sign after spotting the man’s car so he could be directed to the side of this road. However, the man did not silence but continued at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour towards the police, the summons states.

The man also did not dodge the cops in the free lane. According to the prosecutor, police ran out from under the man’s car at the last minute as the man continued to drive.

Lauri Olavi Koivukangas, 33, was convicted, inter alia, of violent opposition by an official, aggravated drunk driving and aggravated endangerment of road safety. In a written response to the district court, the man pleaded guilty to all charges against him.
