Two seventeen-year-old boys from Goes were arrested in the garden of a house on Friday evening after they had stolen a scooter. The two boys had sat there in the hot tub when they got home from their raid.
The police had received a report around 8.15 pm that two boys had stolen a scooter in the Ostendestraat in Goes. The boys then drove two scooters towards the Wijngaardstraat. An agent has then started chasing. The policeman lost sight of the scooter near Beukenstraat.
The officer had noticed the license plate of the other scooter. It turned out that the suspect was easily traced via that license plate. The license plate was registered at an address in Goes-Zuid.
When officers went there to investigate, it turned out that one of the suspects was sitting in the hot tub in the backyard of the house. The seventeen-year-old boy could therefore easily be apprehended. The other suspect was still trying to hide in the neighbour’s yard. But the police soon found him.
Both boys were arrested and taken to a police cell complex. They are still stuck. The stolen scooter has since been returned to its owner.
