The winning motivation from the jury is:
“At a time when diversity is under threat and the earth is becoming increasingly impoverished, Paradise reminds us of our capacity for care, cooperation, and beauty. A cultivation park that shows the way to new ways of designing our parks by merging allotments with the park, which promotes biodiversity and promotes social cohesion. The simple and natural content of paradise shows a skilful handling of the basic tools of landscape architecture; plants, water and topography. “
About 60 entries participated in the competition and the four nominees for the final were Anders Franzén’s park in Hammarby Sjöstad, Stockholm, Nordic jungle in Stadsparken in Lund and Linköping’s two contributions Paradise and Broparken in the Vallastaden district.
