She also spoke out about the accusations against her of racism after her words about Shcherbakova.
“If I’m hated or laughed at, it doesn’t bother me, but using the word“ racist ”with such disdain is no longer acceptable. I have not made any such comments, because this skater and I are of the same race. Shocked and saddened by such accusations, which are extremely serious in the modern world. There should be no place for this word in the comments about figure skating, ”Duhamel summed up.
Even before the start of the World Championship, Duhamel said that she could not feel the pleasure of skating Shcherbakova, as she always thinks that the Russian woman looks painful. The Canadian athlete also said then that she wanted to see the winner of the competition as a fully developed person and to see her joy from success.
Earlier it was reported that the Olympic champion Duhamel was accused of racism because of her words about Shcherbakova.
