“Scientific unanimity has never been there. And sometimes, the facts of the next day come to thwart the certainties of the day before”, justifies Emmanuel Macron, who is satisfied not to have reconfigured in February when “some told us (…) ‘you are going to take the wall'”. “Elsewhere, the hard confinements since December have not prevented a resumption of the epidemic which requires reinstating or extending the confinement”, also advances the head of state.
In this context, the doctrine remains the same on the opening of schools: “The complete closure of schools should not be a taboo, but it must remain a last resort and a measure limited as much as possible in time.” From Monday, the classes of schools in the 19 departments under “braking” measure will close as soon as a positive case is identified.
In addition, Emmanuel Macron called for strengthening vaccination in people over 75, again evoking the launch of“a unique number, which will function as a fast-track and which will allow anyone over 75 to get an appointment in the coming weeks”. “Out of nearly 7 million people over 75, 3.5 million have not been vaccinated”, underlines the head of state.
