Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Oleg Melnichenko Acting Head of the Penza Region after Ivan Belozertsev was dismissed from this post due to a loss of confidence: the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the former governor until May 20 in the case of a bribe in the amount of more than 31 million rubles.
On March 27, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the Volga Federal District, Igor Komarov, introduced Oleg Melnichenko to Penza officials and deputies.
