Joost Luiten finished joint seventh at the Kenya Savannah Classic on Friday. After four rounds of play, Darius van Driel was tied for tenth place at the Karen Country Club in Nairobi. The victory went to the South African Daniel van Tonder.
Luiten closed with a round of 65 strokes (6 strokes under par) and thus rose twelve places. He recovered from a lesser round of 70 strokes the day before, which brought him down to nineteenth place. He hit seven birdies and a bogey for a total score of 267 strokes (17 under par).
After seven birdies and three bogeys, Van Driel came to a round of 67 strokes (4 under par) and a total score of 268. He fought back three places to tenth place.
Van Tonder finished after a final round of 64 strokes shared first with Jazz Janewattananond from Thailand on 263 strokes (21 under par). In the play-off for the victory, the South African birdie in the third attempt on the eighteenth hole and his opponent did not.
Justin Harding had started the last day as leader, but dropped after a round of 73 strokes to the shared fourteenth place.
