For the Netflix series prequel series The Witcher Actor Laurence O’Fuarain has been cast in one of the lead roles. That reports Variety Friday.
O’Fuarain zal in The Witcher: Blood Origin can be seen alongside, among others, Jodie Turner Smith, of whom it was announced in January that she would play in the series.
O’Fuarain, known for series such as Game of Thrones in Vikings, will be in The Witcher-prequel to take on the role of fighter boss Fjall. He was born into a clan of warriors who have sworn to protect a king. However, Fjall lives with the pain of losing a loved one who died on the battlefield to save him. This prevents him from settling down and accepting himself and the world around him.
The Witcher is based on the fantasy books of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski about the amalgamation of the worlds of monsters, humans and elves. Three games were also made of the books, which collectively sold more than 33 million times.
The prequel takes place twelve hundred years before the events of The Witcher off. The story is about the period before the fall of the elf people. The Witcher: Blood Origin consists of six episodes. It is not yet known when these will appear on Netflix.
