Italy announced Tuesday, March 30 that henceforth, European travelers will have to respect a quarantine of five days upon their arrival in the country. To enforce this new, rather unexpected measure, checks will be carried out “everywhere in all stations, all airports that have international connections”, assures the journalist France Télévisions Alban Mikoczy, in duplex from Rimini (Italy).

Concretely, even with a negative Covid test, travelers are placed in quarantine for five days. “Only at the end of this quarantine will you take another test, and if it is negative, you will be allowed to enter Italy”, explains the journalist. “The objective is very clear, it is to discourage European citizens from coming to Italy for the Easter holidays, but it is also to discourage Italians from going abroad”, continues Alban Mikoczy.
