Two-time Olympic figure skating champion Tatyana Volosozhar commented on the results of Russian figure skaters in sports pairs competitions at the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm.

“We’ve all been waiting for this gold for eight years! Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov became world champions in pair skating! The last time we won gold medals in this form was in 2013 – they were just brought by us with Maxim Trankov. And surprisingly, then this also happened eight years after the victory of Tatyana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin. I hope we will not have to wait eight years again for the next gold medals, ”Volosozhar wrote on her Instagram.
The skater also supported Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov: “Guys, you are very cool, and I am sure that your medals are still waiting for you!”

Russian figure skaters Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov won gold medals. Their compatriots Alexandra Boykova and Dmitry Kozlovsky won bronze. Silver went to Wenjing Sui and Han Cong from China.
Earlier it was reported that Mishina and Gallyamov were surprised by their victory at the world championship.
