House prices in the province of Groningen below the national average | NOW

House prices in Groningen are below the national average. Of the ten municipalities with the lowest average selling prices, six are located in the province of Groningen. This is evident from data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) on Sunday.

On average, a house in the Netherlands costs 250,000 euros. In Pekela, the houses on average have the lowest price, namely 164,000 euros. Prices are also low in Delfzijl, Oldambt, Het Hogeland, Appingedam and Veendam. The average prices there vary from 177,000 euros in Delfzijl to 206,000 euros in Veendam.

The average house price is highest in Bloemendaal (863,000 euros), Blaricum (831,000 euros) and Laren (788,000 euros). In the municipality of Groningen, the average house price rose from almost 259,000 euros in 2019 to almost 279,000 euros in 2020.

Across the country, house prices rose by about 10 percent. There is therefore no question of a corona dip. Chief economist Peter van Mulligen of Statistics Netherlands even thinks that the corona crisis will lead to higher prices. Many people could not go on holiday and they save more than in other years. This allows them to bid more on houses.
