The director of the Gamaleya center, Alexander Gintsburg, said that cases of coronavirus in those vaccinated with one component of the Sputnik V drug are rare, and after the introduction of the second – isolated.
“In the course of post-vaccination observation, we note rare cases of coronavirus infection in citizens who have been vaccinated with only the first component of the vaccine,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Gunzburg said that isolated cases of infection are possible in those who have been vaccinated with the two components, in which “after the second injection, the 21-day period of developing immunity has not been completed.”
Earlier, the center of Gamaleya reported that repeated vaccination with Sputnik V is possible and may be more effective than primary vaccination.
