The presentation of the A521 was made official this Tuesday at the Enstone factory (United Kingdom), the former headquarters of Renault, whose structure is now taken over by Alpine. Metallic blue tones are the dominant note on the chassis, completed with red and white, the other two colors of the French flag, on the engine cover.

The car will debut this Wednesday at the Silverstone circuit, where Ocon will take the wheel for the usual Filming Day tests. The 24-year-old Frenchman will have to fight Alonso just one season after losing his particular duel against Daniel Ricciardo.

At 39, the Spaniard will be the second oldest driver on the grid, just behind Kimi Raikkonen (Alfa Romeo). However, his ambition does not seem to have diminished one iota after these two seasons away from the Grand Circus, where he won two victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and ventured into the Indianpolis 500 and the Dakar Rally.

“I have been working hard to prepare and the objective is to go on the attack from the beginning. Driving a car for the first time is always something special,” said the two-time world champion, who must wait until March 12, during the first day of official tests. in Bahrain, to take the controls of the A521.
